CACI, Inc. is accepting applications for a Payload Processing Systems Engineer to support a contract for National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) activities.

More About the Role

The Payload Processing Systems Engineer is a technical/engineering professional who acts as technical expert on complex and critical payload processing systems and processes. The PPSE provides expert advice and technical evaluations on technical approach and execution; as well as provides alternatives. The PPSE also provides support to ensure thorough and consistent implementation of NRO Systems Engineering and Engineering processes. PPSE Tasks may include:

  • Develop, document and trace functional and interface requirements for OSL missions and coordinates with external entities when necessary to resolve issues

  • Develop and implement verification and validation processes and activities

  • Identify risks, opportunities and corresponding mitigation or implementation milestones

  • Coordinate among OSL divisions to identify new requirements, capture emerging risks and recommend plans of action consistent with OSL strategic goals

  • Retain cognizance over payload processing related studies and provide the government with timely and relevant assessments

  • Maintain familiarity with the NRO strategic roadmap

  • Provide day-to-day support to assure routine actions are addressed

  • Manage project approval and closure processes

  • Lead root cause analysis including closure for all critical non-conformances.

  • Evaluate payload processing specification requirements

  • Assess adequacy of verification data/actions

  • Identify elevated payload processing risks areas and develop mitigation approaches

  • Assess system performance, O&M, non-conformances and related data to support the Mission Readiness Process

  • Interface with key mission personnel from NRO mission partners including launch vehicle contractors, satellite contractors, external agencies and other mission stakeholder groups

  • Draft briefings and provide support in preparing for and conducting required meetings, briefings, reviews and readiness assessments

  • Manage Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) including entrance/exit criteria and action item tracking/closure

  • Support technical and programmatic meetings

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Typically has a University Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline or equivalent experience

  • 5 years related work experience

  • Interfacing with active-duty military and civil service personnel

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must have a US Government TS/SCI CI Poly Security Clearance

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
