The Opportunity:

Defense Health Readiness Engineering Support (DHRES) Program offers an exciting opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Technical Writer supporting a Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) contract with the Defense Health Readiness Engineering Support (DHRES), Theater Medical Information Program - Marine Corps (TMIP-MC) Project.

  • Conducts research, organize, write, edit and produce technical data for major publication projects.

  • Organizes material and writes descriptively according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

  • Coordinates quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication, including in process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification.

  • Instituted workflow processes to increase project efficiencies in time and quality.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: BA degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing.

  • Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the “Technical Writing Field,” to include: writing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4ISR systems or equipment.

  • Non-degree/GED with nearly 8 years of experience in the “Technical Writing Field.

Desired:

  • Responsible for developing technical solutions that will require collaboration with internal expertise and deep analysis of the technical system.

  • Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.

  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function. May have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, sponsors, etc.)

  • Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function at a tactical and operational level regarding policies, practices and procedures

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$44,700 - $91,700
