CACI is currently looking for a UI Architect with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. You should have worked with or have a strong interest in agile software development practices and delivering deployable software in short sprints.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing UI development and architecture for the delivery of releasable software in short sprint cycles. Responsible for activities associated with software projects by working in close collaboration with architects, business analysts, software developers/engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.
Responsibilities include:
Charting the path forward for multiple teams in how they develop user interfaces.
Designing, developing, and maintaining reusable UI components that will be used across 20+ applications.
Leading other UI developers in developing and maintaining common UI components and helping developers in product teams integrate components into their apps
Finding gaps in common solutions, reconciling requirements, and proposing solutions that can fit multiple products
Working closely with UX to determine technical feasibility of designs
Acting as a member of a product team supporting teammates and collaborating with a do what it takes attitude to ensure product and team success
Providing improvements to the product(s) being supported
Actively participate in release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations and retrospectives and solution releases
Supporting release planning with conceptual design and development / refinement of software engineering guidelines
Analyzing complex project-related problems and creating innovative solutions involving, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools and solution components
Ensuring product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reports
Providing mentoring to junior members of the team
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:
3 year check for felony convictions
1 year check for illegal drug use
1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Professional Experience: at least seven (7) years related technical experience, with software design, development, and implementation targeting web browsers and mobile devices.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Demonstrable expertise in our UI development tech stack: Angular, Typescript, CSS, styling & theming using Angular Material, nginx.
In-depth knowledge of the Angular Framework (TypeScript, Angular Material, state management), as well as experience implementing UI screens from prototypes, wireframes, and/or mock-ups.
Experience in the following programming languages/libraries: Angular, Angular Material, Typescript, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
Ability to create and enforce development standards for user interfaces across multiple applications and development teams.
Ability to design and implement a robust and scalable UI architecture, leveraging existing enterprise tools and standards as well as identifying new tools to streamline development and improve user experience.
Solid understanding Angular components, services, and routing; understanding of state management (NGXS and/or NGRX); implementing micro-front ends; and UI performance considerations such as, but not limited to, reducing file sizes, bundling assets, and asynchronous data loading.
Ability to evolve current architecture based on industry trends and help teams catch up to the latest in UI development by setting milestones and providing technical help.
Demonstrable experience creating reusable libraries and components with version control, documentation, and evangelizing the needs of a standards-based development approach.
Developing interactive and responsive interfaces, implementing complex solutions, encouraging quality code through conducting reviews/leading tests.
Experience implementing new features by transforming mockups into fully functional user interfaces integrated with API enabled microservice built on Spring Boot based backend.
Ability to bridge the gap between user interface design and technical implementation.
Passionate for user experience and user-centric development.
Continuously research new and best design and coding practices.
Strong communication skills that include leading design-related conversations, ability to build and nurture good relationships and foster an environment for collaboration
Object oriented design and development (OODD) expertise, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Experience with source code control systems and concurrent development workflows (Git preferred)
Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Mobile/responsive application implementation experience a plus
Understanding of system architecture concepts and experience with system design (defining service building blocks, data flow, caching strategies for UI assets, building systems with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind).
DevOps experience/CI/CD pipeline.
Experience deploying applications to Amazon AWS cloud or similar cloud vendor.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
